Frequently asked questions

If you’ve made it down this far, maybe you still have questions. Just know that I’m here to support you every step of the way.

WHAT IS COACHING?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the gold standard in professional coaching. The ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfilment.

Anyone can call themselves a coach, currently it is an unregulated profession.

WHAT IS GUIDANCE COUNSELLING

Guidance facilitates people throughout their lives to manage their own educational, training, occupational, personal, social, and life choices so that they reach their full potential and contribute to the development of a better society. This is the agreed definition of guidance of the National Forum on Guidance (2004)

DO YOU DO PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes, payment plans are available. Get in touch and we can work together to figure out something that works for you.

I’M SUPER BUSY, CAN I FIT IT ALL IN AND STILL GET RESULTS?

Absolutely. I work with busy women who are often juggling careers, motherhood or running a business (sometimes all three!) and I’ve been there myself. I’ve designed the programmes with you in mind and I ask my clients to make the commitment to getting the changes they desire.

HOW DO I KNOW IF WE’RE A GOOD FIT?

Before we work together, we’ll have a zero-pressure discovery call so we can get to know each other, and understand what you’re looking to get out of coaching. I can talk through how I coach and the process and we can go from there.

WHAT ARE MY QUALIFICATIONS

With an accredited qualification in coaching, I’m proud to have trained with one of Ireland’s best coaches, who taught me so much about what it takes to be a great (not just a good) coach.

As well as having completed an ICF accredited coaching qualification. I’m also a qualified Career Counsellor. I’ve over 400 hours career coaching and counselling completed, and I work part-time at a University as a Career Consultant. I spent close to two decades working in the corporate world, where I held a senior management position in a big 4 firm. I have also a Business Degree, Professional Diploma in Employment Law, I’m a Charted Tax Adviser and have a diploma in make-up artistry, I even did make-up for a music video during my travels in Sydney!

I have studied mindfulness, and counselling theories and coaching methods and I have read copious amounts of books!

I’m committed to growth and learning, it’s one of my values.

I attend regular coaching and career counselling supervision.

But I believe it’s my life experiences that make the work I do so impactful. Check out my credentials and recommendations on LinkedIn.

WHAT TYPE OF COACH AM I?

Calling myself a ‘career coach’ is the easiest way to describe what I do.

But what I really do is help people reconnect to themselves and work out what they actually want in their personal and professional life. Supporting you to realise your potential and find fulfilment and pursue that big dream of yours

WHO DO I COACH?

Seasons of change, transition, stories and dreams are my sweet spot. Whatever that change looks like and feels like to you. Women I work with want to make internal and external changes. Sometimes the change might be where or how they work and some want to work for themselves.

I have coached women of all ages, from 25 to 65. Age is just a number. Remember life is too short and precious not to feel fulfilled in your professional and personal life. Book a free discovery call and let’s have a chat about the change YOU want to make and how we can work together

WHERE DO THE CALLS TAKE PLACE?

All of our calls will take place via zoom.

You can walk and talk after our first couple of sessions if you prefer to get out in nature during our sessions

WHAT DAY SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE?

Sessions are available at different times of the day (from 6am – 8pm) on Tuesdays to Friday.  I do prefer to coach in the mornings as it is when I’m at my best.

I'M NOT BASED IN IRELAND, CAN WE STILL WORK TOGETHER?

Yes! I’ve worked with clients all over the world and have availability that works for most time zones.

CAN WE GET STARTED STRAIGHT AWAY?

I’m currently booking for January 2023. that means we can get started with working together in the New Year.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT COACHING IS RIGHT FOR ME?

If you’d like to make a positive change and you’re ready to do the work, coaching is right for you!

CAN WE HAVE A CHAT BEFORE I BOOK?

Sure thing – drop me a line and we can schedule a discovery call.

DO I DO ONE OFF SESSIONS?

I get asked this question a lot. I don’t believe in quick fixes. The only time a once off session might be appropriate is if I’ve worked with you before. The minimum amount of sessions I generally do with clients is 4 to 6 sessions.

HOW TO PICK A COACH?

It’s important to consider if you are  ready, willing and able for coaching, and want to make shifts and changes. I don’t make any promises, but I do believe in what’s possible.

My clients have told me that they decided to work  with me for different reasons. Some have told me it’s because:

I’m a mum

My previous experience or background

Feel they can trust me

A referral from a friend or colleague

Part of my story resonates with them.

They feel that I will get them/understand them

I’m down to earth

There are loads of brilliant coaches. Personally when I work with a coach, there is something about their story that resonates with me, and I get a sense that they will ‘get me’ and that I feel trust and safe with them, and there is no judgement. The relationship is key. There’s something special about their presence, and I can be fully open and honest with them, and vulnerable.
