Who am I ?

I have had many ups and downs in my life, as we all do, and so bringing humanity to my work is part of who I am. Life for me has been a journey of learning, growth and awareness, becoming all I can be, and aspiring to have a positive impact on the world.

My clients tell me I am warm, positive, open, supportive, curious, reflective, professional, expressivegrounded, focused, real, challenging, wise, honest, down to earth, practical and vulnerable.

I have a degree in Business Studies, a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser, Professional Diploma in Employment Law, Guidance Counsellor and Coach.  I’ve completed additional training in healthy harmonious workplace relationships.

I set up my private coaching practice in 2020, following the birth of my second child. Prior to this, I spent close to two decades working in the corporate world – Professional Services, in tax and employment law. Stepping back from an executive position to set my  coaching business.

Love is very important in my life. I have had a number of defining moments in my life, all of them challenging me to grow, to trust myself and listen to my own wisdom and discover the potential within. Being compassionate with ourselves, and with others. Also seeing the gifts and opportunities in the challenges, laughing and having fun, being kind and giving back to others, and aspiring to learn, grow and become all that we can become. I believe that life is a journey of growth and learning.

A little story

Growing up, I spent most of my time outdoors. A happy go lucky, multipassionate and curious girl, looking back I suppose I always had an entrepreneurial flair, knowing every horse and pony for sale in Ireland.

The kitchen was the heart of the home, full of chat, stories and wonder. A place where I developed a love of tea, stories and a curiosity about people and life.

In university,  as a young women I ended up on a path that wasn’t the best fit for me. My confidence took a knock. I lost sight of my own definition of success and paid too much attention to what everyone else was doing, and telling me to do!  The sense of wonder lay dormant for sometime.

On my first maternity leave, I started working with a coach, connecting the dots, and making some some small shifts and changes and steps towards a plot twist. Fast forward to 2021, what looked like a wonderful career from the outside, wasn’t lighting me up on the inside. I made a heart-led decision and a leap from corporate to self-employment, and founded Big Picture Careers. It’s been a huge learning curve, the biggest getting to know myself experiment. I dropped the name in 2023, but still use the phrase a lot! You’ll find my full career story on LinkedIn or the Blog, scroll down for a list of my qualifications and experience.

Training as a coach was life changing for me, I always felt that I lacked confident, a huge light bulb moment for me was when I realised that I hadn’t learnt to TRUST MYSELF. Block out all the noice, truly listen and hear myself, trust myself and believe in myself. I believe that you can get to where you want to get to faster with the support of coaching. I don’t believe in empty promises, but I do believe in the possibilities. I give my client’s 110% and I ask them to fully commit to the journey.

I now live in Kilkenny with my husband, Tommy, and little boy and girl, and our recent addition, Holly, a miniature poodle puppy. I’m a proud mama, solopreneur, bookworm, and an avid adventure-seeker. I love my work, I love coaching. I find joy by sharing meals with families and friends, spending time in nature (forests in particular), dips in the river, walks on the beach, the changing seasons and walking up hills (both metaphorically and literally).  Still multi-passionate, still curious, still a love of tea, stories and a curiosity about people and life, hence the coaching and biographies!

I have a special interest in communication skills & healthy harmonious workplace relationships.
